Ping error transmit failed general failure

Pinging Google resulted in transmit failed, general failure. See the quote below.

I copied it from the DOS window. How to troubleshoot it?

I don't know if that will be helpful or not, but if the problem arises in a wireless connection, it could be because of the WAP Pre-Shared Key, someone might have changed it and may have forgotten to update you that he has done it, so, just updating the Pre-Shared Key would do the trick.

I tried installing Jetico Firewall 2 but totally hung my Windows 11. A system restore saved the OS, but the DNS issue for browsing disconnected me from the Internet world. Plus, a ping to 127.0.0.1 was not working. The New wireless device didn't help either. I am still looking for a solution.

I had the same problem on my PC. Uninstalled the AntiVirus software, and it fixed the issue.

Turn off the Microsoft Defender Firewall on your computer and reboot it. It may fix the problem.
