I have a blog with a Blogspot subdomain. I plan to migrate to a custom domain. I read an article explaining the advantages of an older domain name over a new domain name. Is it true? Can I use an older domain name to get a higher Search Rank in Google for my blog?

Domain age has its perks, but the sole domain age itself offers nothing in Google ranking.

I (personally) prefer older domains for the possible natural backlinks acquired over time. If I find an old domain name without a single natural backlink, I will never buy it.

How about buying an old domain name with many backlinks? Does this strategy work for my blog?
