Can the Indian Court Stop ChatGPT From Using Websites' Content Without Their Permission?

Post by Hardik Sejpal »

Hello SysToSys Team, An interesting story is being developed around OpenAI and an Indian news publisher. ANI, a News publisher, filed a case against OpenAI seeking a court order to prevent ChatGPT from using its content without permission to train the OpenAI AI module.

You can read this report from Reuters by visiting the link.

My question is whether the Indian court has the power to stop a US based company from using web publishers' content without permission to train its AI chat program. If the court issues an order preventing the ChatGPT operation model, will it help or damage website owners and content creators?

I like to hear your opinions.

I read the news. Seems a promising one. OpenAI is stealing others content and show as their answer. Courts should do something to stop it.

Should Indian Court Regulate ChatGPT From Using Website's Content to Train AI?

AI must be regulated. If courts can do something about it, it will be helpful. We should not let a few corporate companies hold the most powerful weapon without accountability.

Yes Alex, AI is a powerful weapon and governments must take the responsibility and control of all AI projects by corporate companies.

We can guess the court ruling already. Court will order the OpenAI to stop using the content of ANI and they will do it.It is not going to affect how ChatGPT steals content from other small publishers.

Indian Court's Ruling On ChatGPT's Website Content Scraping

Post by Yashika »

That is what I fear too Sanal. The court may grant ANI's wishes but totally ignore other websites. OpenAI will continue scraping content from other websites without permission to train their AI.
