Hello STS Team, I need your help in solving the freezing problem with Redmi phone. My Redmi phone gets hangs whenever I turn on the WiFi. After tapping the WiFi, it shows turning on WiFi, then stops everything. Phone seems stop responding. What can I do to fix it?

You are not alone Reshmi, there is something wrong with all recent Redmi handsets. My friend bought a Redmi phone and she too complains a lot.

Welcome to the SysToSys Community Reshmi R Menon. A phone gets stuck while there is no room left in RAM. Have you installed too many Apps on your Redmi phone?

Not installed many Apps Alex. Only a normal user.

Check for pending software updates. If available, run it. It will fix software bugs that freezes the Redmi phone.

Yes Stephy I did all software updates. This phone still shows freezing occassional when I turn on the wifi. Currently no pending Redmi software updates left.

Oh then uninstall some Apps.

Redmi MIUI is heavy. It consumes a lot of device memory. So, no wonder your Redmi handset freeze while turning on the wireless.

Yes Yashika, I do not understand why they keep it heavy. Many features that don't be required.

They install many bloatware. Try to remove them Reshmi. Your phone will work faster.

I too have this problem, Redmi phone stops responding sometimes when I tap on WiFi. I have to press the power button and reboot the phone to get it working. Too bad, never expected this problem from Redmi phones.
